I love when I find some yummy recipes with some of my favorite ingredients. Here is one with my favorite Protein powders that I adapted from the recipe created in the Usana Test Kitchen (Usana Nutrimeal FREE-no gluten, no soy no dairy!) It is so easy to make and my kids just gobbled them up! They are easy to adjust to your favorite ingredients and have great flavor! I like to let them brown just a bit more to get that toasty flavor-but watch that they don’t burn!
Vanilla-Strawberry Oat Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 c Whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c Rolled oats oven toasted to light brown
3 Tbs French Vanilla Nutrimeal Free
1 tsp cinnamon1 Tbs Fibergy Plus or Ground Flax seed
1/2 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/3 c maple syrup (can be 1/4c or agave)
1/3 c coconut oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/3 c strawberry fruit spread (unsweetened /no sugar added)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients flour through salt.
Mix together maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla then add to dry ingredients.
Press 1/2 into bottom of large bread pan.
Spread strawberry jam.
Cover jam with rest of mixture for the top layer.
Bake for approximately 30 min or until golden brown.
Cut into squares when still a bit warm.
