If you’ve had back pain for a while chances are you also experience back instability. Back instability can occur when a segment of the vertebra does not stay in place or it could be the pelvis is not in place, which can create back pain above and hip pain below. When this happens, it’s important to get your body back in alignment by seeing a physical therapist or chiropractor. If there is too much inflammation in your body, sometimes an alignment isn’t sufficient to fully resolve the pain and instability.
The root cause of your inflammation can be somewhere else in your body. For example, the most common is an imbalance in your gut. If your microbiome is out of whack or you have an overgrowth of certain bacteria that can actually increase the inflammation in your body. This can show up in your body as back pain or hip pain.
Getting the inflammation under control can really make a difference in your life – not only when it comes to back pain, but for your future health as well. Interestingly, many people don’t think they have digestive issues, yet when we test this an imbalance is found. In my functional medicine studies, I have learned how to fix gut imbalances.
If you’ve had back pain for a long period of time and nothing is helping you, I would be happy to work with you on a deeper level. We can run some simple tests to check the balance of your gut microbiome and based on the results develop a specialized plan just for you.
