Did you know that it’s very difficult to hold a good posture? You need a lot of strength and in the process of attaining better posture; you may not have the musculature to sustain good posture over time. As a result, we often go back to our habits of slumped posture. The good news is, I have a program that can help you improve your posture. One of the things that I teach in my program is how to attain better posture in a more dynamic way – a way that you can take with you and reset frequently.
Basically, you train your brain to be able to find the best posture for you. Not all clients are alike, we are all built differently. For example, someone who has more rounded shoulders and back needs more opening in the front. A person who is more extended naturally and has neck pain actually needs to find a more neutral position. It’s really important to find your best posture. I feel like posture training is something that is neglected.
Many times I find that the brain isn’t trained and the muscular support system isn’t strong enough to sustain good posture. In my program, one of the things that I teach is how to have good posture no matter what structure you have, what you’re doing, or what your job is. My technique does not require sustaining an uncomfortable holding pattern, so it actually feels good.
If you are struggling with pain, it could be a result of your posture. In my experience, especially if you have had an injury it is important to evaluate your posture to fully heal. If you have pain in the back, neck, or any other area that has not been resolved, then it’s time to take a look at your posture.
