Aston® Kinetics 101–Seeing Fascial Body Patterns
The Where, Why, When, How and How Much-know what tools to use!
Can you identify where to begin a session? Do you understand why your client’s symptoms come back over and over? Do you want to be more efficient with your session time and not have to work so hard? Do you love helping people in your massage practice but do you wonder if your body can hold up to the stress and strain of a full practice?
The Aston Paradigm will teach you the where, why, when, how, and how much, to do in a session. The Aston assessment skills that you learn in AK101 will help you to see body patterns. You will start to learn how to develop a clear hypothesis about your client’s alignment and the root cause of their symptoms. This class will give you language to easily explain why your client’s pattern is creating their pain or limitation. These visual assessment skills will also give you information to know where to begin and to sequence a session to maximize your bodywork or movement techniques. The end results will improve your clients’ posture and resolve their symptoms. You will also improve your own alignment so your work will be more accurate and less stressful on your body.
AK101 introduces the Aston Paradigm with the primary focus on viewing the body pattern in standing. You will learn there are many unique body patterns and seven different tracks to identify them. Even this beginning level of understanding will benefit your practice.
Aston® Kinetics 102 – Wisdom in Motion
This dynamic course builds on the visual skills learned in AK101 and adds movement assessment which many massage practitioners never learn. The Fundamental Aston Arcing exercise helps you and your clients find your best posture which is both effortless and stable. Learn how to teach this movement to your clients so they can reduce their pain and gain strength for their daily activities. We will explore the functional tasks of sitting, standing, reaching, bending and gait using the principles of Aston-Mechanics®. You will be introduced to Judith Aston’s ergonomic designs to support the new Balanced Body in Motion.
